The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) at Princess Sumaya University for
Technology (PSUT) launched the 13 th Queen Rania National Competition for Entrepreneurship
2023, in cooperation with the iPARK in the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) and in strategic
partnership with the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC).
This year, the competition is supported by the Dutch Embassy in Jordan, with a special edition
organized under the Orange Corners program, which is run in more than fifteen countries around
the world.
Orange Corners Jordan aims to annually support 40 young Jordanian entrepreneurs who already
have their own ideas and not more than one year registered startups. With the aim of contributing
to enhancing the Jordanian start-up environment, the incubation program offers capacity
building, business development support, networking opportunities, training, and mentorship
sessions.
Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, PSUT president, pointed out that the university is keen to give
students opportunities to present their entrepreneurial ideas that meet the challenges of the labor
market, and achieve sustainable goals. The president added that since its establishment at PSUT,
QRCE has always developed and supported technical entrepreneurship in Jordan though holding
many activities which benefit thousands of entrepreneurs, professionals and students in Jordan,
and help put some of the successful Jordanian startups on the path of innovation and
achievement.
Prof. Abu Elhaija also pinpointed that the Queen Rania National Competition for
Entrepreneurship was designed to empower entrepreneurs, especially young people, from all
over the country to create an entrepreneurial culture and promote the entrepreneurial spirit.
Director of QRCE, Mr. Muhammad Obeidat, indicated that this year the competition focuses on
supporting technological projects which seek innovative ideas from individuals, research teams,
entrepreneurs and startups in the early stages of new products, processes and services.

The incubator manager, Eng. Sereen Doueiri, stated that the iPARK is committed to investing
the experiences accumulated over more than 15 years to support and empower entrepreneurs and
startups and motivate them to apply for the competition.
The Executive Director of the Department of Media, Communication, Innovation and
Sustainability Management at Zain-Jordan, Mr. Tariq Al-Bitar, stressed the importance of this
competition in supporting Jordanian innovators and entrepreneurs, as every year the competition
motivates a new group of Jordanian youth to advance innovative ideas that contribute to
community service and keeping pace with the requirements of our time. Al-Bitar also expressed
his happiness with the strategic partnership that brings together Zain Innovation Platform and
Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship throughout these years to serve the Jordanian
entrepreneurship sector and unite efforts to develop it and support the youth.
