The Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) provides a platform to increase the interest of Jordanian entrepreneurs and innovators in designing a path to achieve their dreams. The competition strives to advocate entrepreneurial skills as students and mature entrepreneurs coalesce their knowledge with their resources along with their competitive drive to create a business plan that is both practical and innovative.
The vision of QRNEC is to evolve and expand into a comprehensive entrepreneurship enabler, involved in fostering creativity, incubating viable concepts, and facilitating the success of entrepreneurial ventures to a level that affects the cultural orientation of the Jordanian community.
The Queen Rania National Competition for entrepreneurship has two categories of participants for the year 2010/2011:
Entrepreneurs from Academia:
Which includes Jordanian universities students from all levels; undergraduate, masters and doctorate. The team may include academics (Instructors, faculty members …etc) other than students; however, students should have the majority.
Mature Entrepreneurs:
This genre is open to the general public; including employees who work in various enterprises, selfemployed individuals, scientists working in research facilities and other examples of aspired applicants.

- Control Systems (Software and Hardware/Machines).
- Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
- Semiconductors and Electronic Devices.
- Water Technologies; Desalinization, Purification, etc.
- Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering and Health Technologies.
- Nanotechnology.
- Online Business.
- Security & Defense.
- Agricultural Technologies.
